In the expansion of people’s freedoms and the enlargement of people’s choices, Human Development Theory claims that people have greater freedom to live long, healthy, and creative lives (UNDP, 1990). The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) works towards bringing all nations into global partnership to end poverty and reduce inequality while improving health, education, and economic growth (United Nations, 2023). However, even in developed countries that may be viewed as economically advanced, it is evident that not all members of such nations are equally afforded the same choices and opportunities. New relationships with congregations also open up pathways for the church to care for the vulnerable right in our community, meeting the unique physical, spiritual, emotional, logistical, and other tangible needs that a family may have. In time, those interested in getting involved with a church will have new connections. The benefits from having these resources make an impact in the lives of the entire family, which can last into adulthood.
